Noela Fidow - Lawyer
Noela joined Cook Westenra in 2008 in order to concentrate on family law, an area that Noela felt drawn to. Her time working as a CYFS lawyer provided valuable knowledge of matters concerning child and youth issues.
Noela’s area of specialty includes Protection Orders, the Care of Children Act, Children Young Person and their Families Act, the Human Assisted Reproductive Technology Act, the Status of Children Act, the Adoption Act and the Mental Health Act.
Noela was born in Apia, Samoa and lived there until the age of 12 when she moved to New Zealand. She was educated in Auckland before graduating with an LLB from Auckland University in 2004.
Noela began her working career at the Official Assignee’s office dealing mainly with bankruptcy and liquidations before spending two years as an in house lawyer at CYFS in Whangarei.
In the past, Noela has devoted extensive time to the Samoan and Pacific Island Community, but in recent years, work, her children, family and friends have taken priority. Noela continues community work through her mentoring of a university student from the First Foundation program and when time permits, enjoys travelling and time in her garden.
